Blaze are an electronica band formed in 1984 in New Jersey, USA. It was formed by Josh Milan, Kevin Hedge and Chris Herbert, when Herbert introduced Milan, a member of his church choir to Hedge, his childhood friend. Ironically, Herbert was the one who left the band in 1991, leaving Milan and Hedge to keep working together.

Their output consists mainly of house music tracks with heavy gospel, soul and afrobeat influences (sometimes referred to as Gospel house). When the band started, Herbert was the singer, with Milan playing the piano and Hedge working production. After Herbert left, both Hedge and Milan started to share production duties, vocals and playing most of the instruments in their tracks and albums. They achieved notoriety with their remix of Lisa Stansfield's "People Hold On" in 1989, after signing for the Motown label.

Blaze released their first LP, 25 Years Later, in 1990, after which Herbert decided to move to a more R&B-oriented career, while the two remaining members invested in the emerging club culture, opening their own nightclub, Shelter. In 1995, they scored their first big international production success, with De'Lacy's "Hideaway", which was remixed by Deep Dish.

Since then, Blaze has released three more albums, alongside a few scattered compilations of earlier productions and works and countless singles. They also began working with other well-known names such as Little Louie Vega, Barbara Tucker, Jody Watley and Full Intention. They're best known to modern audiences by their singles featuring Palmer Brown on vocals, the oft-remixed "My Beat" and the tribute anthem "I Remember House". Blaze's most recent album, released in 2005, is a mix compilation title, "Found Love" featuring the hit title track, "Found Love" by Blaze.

Montell Du'Sean Jordan (born December 3, 1968 in Los Angeles, California) is an American R&B singer-songwriter and record producer. Jordan was the second R&B artist signed to the Def Jam label (following Oran "Juice" Jones) and became the main male artist on its Def Soul imprint until leaving the label in 2003.

Jordan attended Pepperdine University in California, where he received a bachelor's degree in communication and was a member of the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi.

Jordan's first single was the 1995 #1 hit single "This Is How We Do It," which sampled Slick Rick's earlier Def Jam hit "Children's Story". Jordan followed up his success with "Somethin' 4 Da Honeyz", which peaked at #21. Later hits would include "Let's Ride" with Master P in 1998 and "Get It on Tonite" in 1999.

Besides crafting his own material, Jordan has written and produced for a number of outside artists, including Christina Milian, 98 Degrees, Deborah Cox ("Nobody's Supposed to Be Here," 1998), and Sisqó (the number-one hit "Incomplete," 2000). The singer has had cameo roles in the films The Fighting Temptations and The Nutty Professor, and he performed on the documentary Standing in the Shadows of Motown.

Jordan left Def Soul in 2003 and released the album Life After Def on Koch Records. A Christian, Jordan now appears on TBN.
