Nynewest (Samantha Law) was born in South Carolina on March 10, 1986. At a very young age, she moved from South Carolina to the hip-hop influenced streets of Brooklyn , New York . Although Nynewest was only four or five years old, she developed an early love for music and it showed through her familiarity with popular music and her desire to sing and perform.

At age five she and her mother moved to Worcester , Massachusetts and it was here that Nynewest began rapping, further influenced at this time by hip-hop culture and music she had experienced in her various surroundings as a little girl. She was always intrigued by music and, growing up in the church, was a member of the choir. This style of musical performance and presence gave the young talent her greatest motivation to put her soul into music.

Singing would then serve as a gateway to the musical advances she would make during her teenage years, as she used her creativity to blend her urban background with her love for music. Rap became a regular hobby for Nynewest and eventually turned into a serious commitment.

At only 19 years old, her daring lyrics and savvy attitude bring a unique presence to her music and separate her from "mainstream" female rap artists. With her first single, "Move & Grab" featuring DJ Chubby Chub (Produced By Kayo who produced the new single for Virgin Records recording artist Razah featuring Fat Man Scoop) is currently getting air play on radio stations around the global. She has opened concerts for 50 Cent, Sean Paul, G-Unit, Cassidy, Bone Thug and Harmony, and performed at several clubs and Universities around the country. Nynewest is definitely hip hop music's "Next Big Thing".
