A number-one hit on the Billboard Hot 100, the song was also the number-one R&B single for nine weeks in the United States and is widely acknowledged as one of Jackson's most critically acclaimed songs. It was voted best single of the year in The Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics' poll, and received two Grammy Awards in 1984 in the categories Best Male R&B Vocal Performance and Best New Rhythm & Blues Song. It was nominated for Record of the Year and Song of the Year, along with "Beat It", at the Grammy Awards of 1984. In 2005, Blender magazine recognized "Billie Jean" as the greatest song since 1980.[1] It's also his best-selling single worldwide, with 5.25 million copies sold. On March 6, 2006, "Billie Jean" was re-released as a single as part of Visionary - The Video Singles box set. It went on to become the highest charting UK Visionary single, reaching #11 on the UK Top 40. Largely because of the impact of the video, and the live performance in which Jackson dressed in a black fedora, a sparkly black jacket and a single white sequin glove while performing his most famous dance step the moonwalk, and the overall haunting nature of the song itself, "Billie Jean" is regarded by some as his signature song. "D.A.N.C.E."[1] is the second single by Justice, and the first from their album †. It includes an edit and extended versions of "D.A.N.C.E", a rougher mix in the style of their earlier releases, "B.E.A.T", and the track "Phantom" which was previously issued in limited quantities twice on 12" vinyl preceding the release of "D.A.N.C.E.". The single was released on April 23, 2007. The song features a children's choir from the UK. According to the band, they are huge Michael Jackson fans and therefore decided to dedicate this song to him. The song references numerous Michael Jackson songs including "P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing)", "Black or White", "Working Day and Night", and "Whatever Happens" along with the Jackson Five song "ABC" or Michael Jackson's album "Music and Me". Vocals are provided by the London based Foundation for Young Musicians choir.[2][3] A music video for "D.A.N.C.E." was shot by French directorial duo Jonas & François with animation by So Me. The video was nominated for the 2007 MTV Video Music Award "Video of the Year." The song was #4 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Best Songs of 2007.[4] Gonna Make You Sweat is the first long-player released by David Cole and Robert Clivillés under the name C+C Music Factory. The album was released in the U.S. on December 13th, 1990 (see 1990 in music). The album was released during the rise of house music to commercial acceptance throughout Europe and North America. Following on the success of contemporaries Black Box and Technotronic, Gonna Make You Sweat was a worldwide smash, reaching number two on the Billboard 200. The album's first single, "Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)," took most of the world by storm, reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in February 1991 (see 1991 in music). The song also reached number one on Billboard's Top R&B Singles, Hot Dance Music/Club Play and Hot Dance Music/Maxi-Singles Sales as well as number three on the Australian ARIA Singles chart and UK Singles Chart. The song's opening line is a frequently played during indoor sporting events as a way of maintaining enthusiasm among the spectators. This text is licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License.
